Nineteen of the Russian's 21 championships have been earned on hard courts

A comeback Medvedev secured his maiden trophy for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.

The Russian, a ex- number one, has experienced a challenging season, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the American major.

Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.

Currently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Moutet.

It is his first championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt after spring of 2023.

The win also means he has secured 21 victories at 21 distinct tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my children at once, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," stated ranked player the champion.

"This victory is in honour of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six finals, comprising in Halle earlier this year.

The player's retrieving approach and frequent outbursts on court had led observers to wonder if his skill to compete at the top level was concluded.

However the player has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and play assertively, backed up by an improved serve.

The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the final five games to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped service breaks in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his initial tour championship, gained dominance to force a third set.

He saved four early-game break points in a tight final set before the champion won the break to fifteen to secure the win.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned victory with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
